Smathers Beach

Key West, 33040

The Basics

The largest of Key West’s public beaches, Smathers Beach fills up with a sun-loving crowd in fine weather. Stands along the beach rent out kayaks, sailboats, paddleboards, umbrellas, and chairs, or you can book a parasailing experience to soar above the crystal-clear water here. It’s just as beautiful from above, and many Key West scenic flights give aerial views of Smathers Beach’s pristine sand.

Parasailing at Smathers Beach in Key West
My daughter is afraid of heights, but wanted to go parasailing with her friend. Their guides were fabulous! They both loved it and the guides made my daughter so comfortable. The parasailing ended up being one of her favorite activities during our 6 day visit to Key West.
