Little Havana

SW 8th Street, between Cuban Memorial Boulevard and SW 18 Avenue, Miami

The Basics

The neighborhood’s colorful spirit unfolds on Calle Ocho, Little Havana’s bustling main street, reminiscent of Cuba. On this block between SW 15th and 17th avenues, the Miami Arts District contains a string of studios and galleries that showcase some of the best Latin American art in the country. Nearby, travelers will find the Bay of Pigs Museum & Library, which enshrines the crew of the ill-fated Bay of Pigs invasion, and on the two blocks at SW 13th Street, south of Calle Ocho, are monuments of Cuban patriots and freedom fighters.

Many tour options combine a visit to Little Havana with tours of other popular spots in Miami and the surrounding area: South Beach and its art deco architecture, Miami Beach, the Everglades, Coconut Grove, or the art galleries in nearby Wynwood. Walking tours and bike tours are easy ways to see the area, while bus tours can be a welcome respite from Miami's summer heat. Half-day Little Havana tours take in the neighborhood's sights, while full-day options also visit other Miami highlights.

Authentic Little Havana Food and Culture Walking Tour
Our guide did a masterful job of sharing the history of Cuba and Little Havana. It was a fascinating day and we especially appreciated the added stop at the Bay of Pigs museum. This should be mandatory learning for our schools as it shows how ideology can be used to control citizens.

Friends came in from overseas and stated that they want to do this tour. My husband and I live in south Florida over 30 years never ever heard of tours of little Havana. Faruk is excellent. I have dietary needs and he called ahead to each stop to order my specific foods. There was too much to eat 😊

Little Havana Food and Walking Tour in Miami
At first when the tour director stated we would only be covering a couple blocks, but it would feel like a lifetime of history, I was doubtful, but she did not disappoint! You felt like you were back in history then Bethany brought you to the present. I enjoyed learning about the history of the area. I liked meeting all of the local celebrities. The food was amazing! I was able to taste so many wonderful things. I also appreciated that it was a small group, which made social distancing easier.
