Broadway at the Beach
The Basics
Notable attractions include Ripley’s Aquarium, which features dive shows, marine education, and an enormous shark tank; Wonderworks, which offers fantasy golf, zip-lining, and a pirate-themed ropes course; plus a mirror maze and the Hollywood Wax Museum Entertainment Center. The area also offers numerous watersport options, including kayaking, jet boat rides, paddleboarding, parasailing, boat rentals, and surf lessons.
Myrtle Beach tours often include a stop at Broadway at the Beach along with other area highlights such as Brookgreen Gardens, Medieval Times, the Aquarium Myrtle Beach, and Myrtle Beach State Park.
Things to Know Before You Go
Admission to Broadway at the Beach is free, but each attraction charges its own admission fee.
Strollers and wheelchairs are available for rent at the Guest Services desk; most of the walkways, attractions, theaters, and restaurants are accessible to wheelchairs and strollers.
Bicycles, roller skates, skateboards, and pets are not allowed, with the exception of service animals.
How to Get There
Located just off US Highway 17 between 21st and 29th Avenue North, Broadway at the Beach is easily reachable by car. The complex sits about 1.5 miles (2.4 kilometers) west of the Atlantic Ocean and about 100 miles (160 kilometers) south of Charleston, South Carolina.
When to Get There
Broadway at the Beach is open year-round and the hours vary by season. Myrtle Beach summers are hot and humid, which sends most visitors searching for air-conditioned spaces, and the winters are mild enough to stroll outside comfortably.
The Carolina Opry
Not far from Broadway at the Beach is another of Myrtle Beach's top attractions: The Carolina Opry Theater. Popular shows at this country-music mecca include the Opry Christmas Special, the Motor City Musical, Motown at the Opry, and Time Warp at the Opry.
