Tour meets at the Fat Tire Tours Office near the base of the giant TV Tower (Fernsehturm) in Berlin's Alexanderplatz.

10:00 AM
This activity will end right where it started.
Meet and greet the tour guide and group near in Alexanderplatz, a large public square and transport hub in the center of Berlin. After getting fitted for a Beach Cruiser bike and helmet, there is a brief introduction to Berlin before beginning the ride around and the capital city and cultural center of Germany.

Because there is so much to see in Berlin, this tour takes advantage of the many bike paths the city offers. More than 95 percent of the tour takes place on bike paths and through parks. Also, Berlin is quite flat and easy to traverse by bicycle. With frequent stops to learn about the sites and to take pictures, it all makes for a most enjoyable way to explore this fascinating place.

See the Berlin Wall Memorial and one of the last remaining sections of the wall itself. Stand above Adolf Hitler's bunker and recount the final days of the Third Reich. Check out Checkpoint Charlie, the best-known crossing point between East and West Berlin during the Cold War.

Pedal to the famous Brandenburg Gate, one of Berlin’s most important monuments. It was a symbol of division between Berlin and Germany during the Cold War, but it is now a national symbol of peace and unity. And visit the Reichstag Building, the meeting place of the German Parliament.

Also, ride along the Spree, a river that runs through the city, and Tiergarten Park, Berlin’s largest and most popular inner-city park. Then stop at a beer garden for lunch (own expense) to experience Berlin as the locals do (full-day tour only).

Other stops on the tour include Museum Island, with its collection of five world-renowned museums; Potsdamer Platz, a public square and traffic intersection in the center of Berlin; Gendarmenmarkt’s German and French cathedrals and much more.

Throughout the tour, the guide provides ample information about Berlin’s past and present—and maybe even offers some insight into where the city is headed in the future. It’s a great introduction to the city of Berlin and all that it offers its visitors and residents alike.

The tour ends back at Alexanderplatz.

Shorter than advertised, wasn’t 6hours, but was good. I was also told that there a stop at a beer garden for refreshments at our own cost, which would have been fine, but we didn’t stop for any breaks. Loved learning about the history, seeing the main highlights, and just getting around with a bike in Berlin- what a wonderful way to see the city. Dan was an amazing guide!

The Fat Tire Bike Tour of Berlin was amazing! We loved our guide Peter who took us to many of the usual sights, but several very interesting lesser known sights. Peter brought each sight to life with his excellent knowledge of German history and his outstanding storytelling skills. The bikes were well maintained, comfortable and super fun to ride! What a GREAT time we had! Very highly recommend this tour!!

Michelle was an Excellent Tour Leader; she made all the difference by providing a detailed but very accessible historical background to our sightseeing. We especially enjoyed the tour of the former East Berlin and how Michelle explained its history reflected in its architecture. The 6-hour tour covered a lot of territory, and we highly recommend it as it will provide an excellent overview of the major parts, sights to explore in this most fascinating city! Michelle loves being a tour guide and it shows! Thank you again!

We had an absolutely brilliant day on our 6 hour bike tour of Berlin. Very well organized from booking, bike pick up, tour and return . We had a really lovely group of friendly people. However the star of the show was without doubt Arty our guide. He brought Berlin to life and his passion for the city and it’s history was infectious. Very knowledgeable guy, able to answer every question and his enthusiasm was just brilliant. He’s great fun too and he really made our day memorable. We ended our day with so much knowledge of German history and a great feel for the city. Oh and not forgetting our lovely lunch in a great beer garden. Cannot recommend the 6 hour trip enough. Great value for money for what u get. Bikes and really comfy and easy to use and u don’t need to be super fit as it’s leisurely with so many stops. If u are lucky u get Arty as a guide - he’s just a wonderful guide of his adopted city. Thanks to all at Fat Tire tours for a wonderful day.

The 6.5 hour Berlin Bike Tour was informative and lots of fun. Reece is a fabulous guide who encouraged questions and kept us entertained and there’s so much of interest. Other road users are very accommodating of cyclists so Berlin is the perfect city for a bike tour and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
