Scuba divers and snorkelers aren’t the only ones who get to see the beautiful Florida Reef in all its splendor. Thanks to this glass-bottom catamaran, there’s a very clear 'window to the reef' for guests on this cruise.

Just a few miles seaward of the Florida Keys is North America's only living coral barrier reef and the third-largest coral barrier reef system in the world. It’s also one of the most biologically diverse marine eco-systems. Travel directly over the top of it and see more than 600 species of tropical fish, sharks, lobsters, crabs, sea turtles, sea rays, snails, jellyfish and other sea life, including elkhorn and brain coral.

The boat, which is designed to allow the best viewing with the least amount of stress to the reef, offers a seated sun deck with a panoramic view of the water, as well as an enclosed, air-conditioned cabin with restrooms and a snack bar.

Upgrade to the sunset cruise to watch the sun settle into the Gulf of Mexico while enjoying a glass of Champagne or a soft drink.

Glass bottom tour with the sunset.

Loved seeing the reef, since I’m not able to snorkel or scuba dive due to health reasons. The crew was very nice and knowledgeable. The boat was clean and had plenty of room. Highly recommend the sunset tour.

Due to weather conditions, we’d to travel to Gulf of Mexico instead of the Atlantic ocean and we were ok with it. But still had a decent time watching the coral reefs

Do not book this activity

The boat was terribly hot inside the “cabin”. It was cooler outside in the sun and slight breeze. The narrator gave a very educational speech on the coral which would have been fitting in a college classroom not on an glass bottom boat The entire experience was a nightmare

Coral at Reef is 70% dead
GregoryWarren_H
, May 2022
the boat traveled a good distance before arriving at the reef. We spent about 30 minutes at the reef. The coral at this reef is about 70 % dead. We then came back close to the starting point and watched the sunset. We could have spent an additional 15 minutes at the reef instead of sitting and waiting for the sunset and still been able to see the sunset.

The first 1/3 of the boat tour is fun. The other 2/3s is boring.
Gregory_L
, May 2022
The boat ride out was fun. Once we got to the glass bottom part and idle around it became boring. We spent too much time listening to marine biologist talk about things we couldnt see. There wasn't much to see on the bottom. The ride back was just like to ride out.

Don't!

Air conditioner off while boat at reef. 1/2 the people got too hot and were nauseous. A lot of throwing up. It's called heat stroke! Once air conditioner back on people felt better.
