Wonderfully Organised Tour

Well organised trip and what gorgeous castles. Our tour guide Hanae was excellent. Very knowledgable and kept us entertained throughout. Sadly due to COVID we could not stop at Oberammergau as it would not leave enough time to see both castles so we decided to go back the next day! Would highly recommend this tour.

Great organized trip to two beautiful castles

This trip was well organized and we had a great guide; loved having all of the logistics taken care of for us! We were happy to stop at Linderhof Palace along the way to Neuschwanstein Castle to break up a bit of a long trip (though we were disappointed we did not get to go into the Linderhof because "the COVID-19 protocols would take too long and we could miss our schedule time at Neuschwanstein"; but the Linderhof Gardens were beautiful.). Both castles were amazing and interesting to see. The Neuschwanstein local tour guide did a wonderful job at explaining the background of Ludwig II as well as all of the rooms we toured. Definitely recommend this tour.

Sadly, cannot recommend

Really wish I could give a better review but I can't. Whilst the palaces are beautiful, our experience was marred by the fact that there is A LOT of uphill walking to get to Neuschwanstein, which was not made clear. Within the castle there are A LOT of steps, which was not made clear. If anyone in your party has any kind of mobility issues, or is just generally a bit unfit, I wouldn't bother. We were recommended a restaurant by our guide which was expensive and not very good. We then rushed to get the shuttle bus (no timetable, just turns up when it wants to) and then had a very stamina draining walk once we got off the bus. Very quick guided tour, including a lot of spiral stairs, return stamina draining walk to the bus stop, where we had to wait 30 minutes before a shuttle bus turned up, and then only made it back to the tour bus with 5 minutes to spare. Return trip to Munich, 2 hours on a bus with no toilet paper, no hand towels and 60 people. Sadly, cannot recommend.

Cinderella’s castle

I loved the history lesson on the fairy tale king, which added a lot of context to the castles. The castles were fascinating, and the bus ride was picturesque. The only downside to the day was the lunch stop which was a bit rushed. Everything else was great!

An amazing tour

It was really an excellent experience. The only downside for it is the being you are always trying to catch time maybe, as the tour was very committed to the schedule. However, in my opinion, every stop was given a considerable time to check everything. Unfortunately, due to COVID situation, the stop in Obermmagau town was cancelled, but we went through it slowly on the bus. The historic information given by the guide was really entertaining. All in all, you wont regret it. Final thing to add, the way up to Neushwinstein Castle takes 30-40 minutes by foot, so shuttle bus would make a better option. Also you will pay for the entree tickets on bus.

Super comfortable coach

Unfortunately for us the inside of Linderhof palace was closed (we still saw the outside) and Marienbrucke was also closed for repairs, so the only sight we completed in full was Neuschwanstein palace. Now, I am a little biased because I think that "Mad" King Ludwig didn't have taste (quite unlike Frederick the Great of Prussia), so I didn't like the inside of Neuschwanstein that much. Nevertheless, the guide was passable, and the coach was the most comfortable coach I have ever travelled on. The private coach alone is a MUST (and worth the price of the tour alone) if you are using public transport to get around in Germany.
