  • "Bring a snack or lite lunch as the small shop at Terezin has only limited items like hot dogs, fries and ice cream." See review
  • "Don't forget to take a drink and a snack as there is nothing available on the day." See review
  • "Also note, that lunch is not included and to give you more time at the museum, it is best to pack a lunch than to rely on the limited lunch options at the museum." See review

History made personal

A full day, (in 5 hours) although very sobering. The camp is extremely well preserved and authentic. The guide was well spoken, easily understandable and clearly had a vast knowledge of the subject. Admittedly, I’m pretty lazy…This tour does have a significant amount of walking. Although it says “wheelchair accessible” I wouldn’t do it. Sophie/Sophia was an excellent tour manager. Very well-informed and anxious to help with information regarding the city and country along the way. Well worth the money.

It's difficult to comment on a very dark part of history, but if I limit myself to the logistics of the tour, that may help. Pick-up was timely from a kiosk near the Powder Tower, our driver was excellent, our guide informative - though at times difficult to understand. The guide at Terezin (camp tour) was amazing - very knowledgeable. There was some confusion afterwards when we toured the museum in the town. Essentially, 8 of the 10 people on our tour were confused by the pick-up point and time we were to meet, our guide needed to be MORE clear. Aside from the confusion at the museum, I would recommend this tour. ...and there is a fair bit of walking involved.

Terezin was a very informative trip. If you are planning to step out of Prague, this is great choice since you also get to see some beautiful countryside. Our guide Sarah was excellent. Sarah is Czech but spoke fluent English and was also translating for the Italian group of tourists in our tour. We first visited the Terezin prison/fortress. All kinds of people (including political prisoners) were in this prison and not just Jewish people. While Sarah gave us an overview, a guide from the Prison led us through the fortress/prison and gave us detailed information. Next, we visited the Terezin Stadt (a holding point for deported Jewish people before they were sent to extermination camps) and the Crematorium. We also visited the museum in Terezin Stadt but since this was a half day tour, we only had 30 minutes time at the museum which was really short. I wish the trip allowed for more time here. Overall, I felt it was a valuable tour informing us about the inhuman cruelty of a political regime set in the backdrop of a peaceful countryside.

One in a lifetime trip

The tour guide at the camp was very informative and full of key details you like to hear he was well spoken and knew her history and you could tell she had an interest in the history as she spoke. The bus ride was a short 45 minutes to the camp. And the tour leader gave you a history tour which is very interesting as we drove along the streets of Prague. The day trip took 6 hours and was a delightful 6 hours. No fault what so ever. Be prepared to shed a few tears. Especially at the Jewish centre where they display painting done by children who went to auschuitz and never came back. I would recommend this trip to any one who has an interest in history

Heavy and sad but so important

It was a well organized tour. Obviously very sad and heavy but so important to see what they went through. To see how the nazis used Terezín to hide the truth and deceived the world. To be remembered and never repeated.

Very informative and interesting tour X very moving and somber. The guides were both knowledgeable. The woman bus driver was extremely rude. Started screaming at me as I was slow getting off the bus due to an injury.
