Make your way to the centrally located meeting point. Meet your guide and a small group of 12 people or fewer and head down the famous Graben boulevard en route to a coffee shop that has been serving fine Viennese brews since 1685.

Once properly caffeinated, satisfy your sweet tooth at a famous pastry shop and chocolatier, and then head to the hotel that claims fame for inventing the Viennese dessert Sachertorte, a chocolate cake with a layer of apricot jam and chocolate icing: learn how the kitchen churns out 500 a day.

Continue to the two open-air markets of Naschmarkt and Brunnenmarkt, getting recommendations for the hottest local eateries along the way, and spend time browsing stalls of colorful produce, sweet treats, and homewares. Plus, visit a tiny restaurant near the market to try fresh produce, fish, spices, and cheese.

Finish your tour with a private coffee tasting in a popular coffeehouse in trendy Neubau, Vienna's seventh district, where you bid farewell to your guide.

Great way to see Vienna!

Onella was our guide and she was wonderful. Our group was small (4 work colleagues) and she took us to several places where coffee, food, wine, and beer were served. Walked all over Vienna and used the subway as well, so it was a perfect way to see the city. The tour last about 5 hours and we all were very pleased with it. Highly recommend this tour!!!

This. tour. was. amazing. Our guide was Christopf. He taught us SO much history it was incredible. We ate at the coolest places and hit up several local hotspots that we would've never wandered into on our own. The street food at the end was perfect! The chef had so much experience and a ton of local flavors. I would 10/10 take this tour again and would recommend it to everyone.

I highly recommend this tour for those visiting Vienna for the first time. Better yet, do this tour on day 1. You will have a better sense of Vienna's maze, but wonder districts. Thank you Ornella, our guide, for a wonderful experience. I will be trying a couple of dishes I learned from this tour when I return home.

He took us to authentic places...not tourist traps. Every spot we visited was delicious, our favorite was the outdoor food market. I would highly recommend this tour.

We had a wonderful time on our tour! We saw parts of town that we wouldn’t have visited on our own, and enjoyed the different personalities of each one. The food was delicious and varied…and certainly plenty! I recommend this trip for anyone who wants to get a fuller picture (and taste) of Vienna!

Don’t be in a hurry! Tour was nearly 5 hours. It was great! 5 food courses, all excellent, and three markets. Guide Ornella was very pleasant, knowledgeable, and took us to parts of Vienna we’d never have seen on our own. The small group size of 6 made it feel like you’d met new friends.

A great tour! Would recommend that you do this tour on the early side of the trip. You get familiar with a lot of Vienna and some of the best places to see, and more importantly, the best things to eat! The team was great and we would highly recommend! Come hungry!

Good way to see Vienna outside the Center but overpriced
Rajasankar_R

Great tour guide and good way to see the day to day parts of Vienna outside the tourist area. The first cafe at the start of the trip was great but from there on the food stalls on the trip felt like average day to day food at vegetable markets and nothing special. There was also no separate lunch / chef desert which we expected to be at a local restaurant. Overall good way to see outside Vienna center but overpriced for the food experience.

Hi Raj, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are pleased that our guide did an amazing job and that our tour is good way to see Vienna. However, there was room for improvement. We rely on our travellers’ feedback as it’s a firsthand insight into what is happening on our trips. This allows us to review our trips and make improvements, as well as recognise all the good we are doing. You can be assured that everyone, from our head office team, to our local guides and operators, endeavours to provide a tour which not only lets you see a wonderful destination but really experience it. As such, we sincerely appreciate your constructive comments and suggestions with the second part of the day. As such have shared to review of our website and information to ensure our customers’ expectations are being correctly set and met. We will also continue to monitor and circulate trip feedback to ensure we’re accelerating the positive experiences and acting on the negative experiences. Thank you again.

Wonderful, casual group! Our friendly guide (a lovely woman who we forget to get her name, sorry) did a great job showing us sights of Vienna we would never find on our own. The food options were delicious. Also, a good lesson on using public transport. Be prepared for lots of walking! Definitely recommend!! Good value!

Overview of Vienna’s food culture
Michael_C
, Apr 2022
I’m convinced the best way to get a feel for a city is by taking a food tour and this one did not disappoint. Verena took us through the city at a leisurely pace exploring Vienna’s cafe culture, farmers market and local sausage stands. She knows the best spots and gave us advice on what to explore next. Enjoyed it.
