The best way to see Vienna!!

This bus ticket was the best way to see all the sites and get entrance to most sightseeing atractions. Easy to redeem our voucher as office located opposite the state opera house and the main departure point in the centre. The buses came frequently, on time and staff were very helpful giving advice on attractions. Definately the best way to see Vienna.

A week in Vienna

Made good use of the Hop on Hop off buses to explore the city and identify places we wanted to visit during our stay. The Vienna pass got us into see the Spanish Riding School training session and the State Treasury in the Imperial Palace. Free entry to St Stephen's Cathedral. Spent a lovely day exploring Schonbrunn Palais

Very Disappointed
JoAnn_F

Said they go to the Spanish Riding School but we did not see that on their map nor did the driver announce it. Busses run infrequently, had to wait a very long time for the next bus. It was NOT open air so it was very hot on the top deck.

Love Vienna Pass!

It makes a perfect sense to obtain this pass if you are staying in Vienna for more than one day and intend to submerge in cultural inheritance of this beautiful city. It gives you not only a value for money, but an opportunity to visit numerous attractions without hassle of queuing for tickets.

Not worth the money

I purchased this for our honeymoon so we could visit the entire city of Vienna in the short timeframe that we were there. The idea that we could skip the lines (or at least be expedited toward the front) was very appealing, even it is costed a little more money than we typically would be able to pay. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The most important thing that we wanted to see was the Schonbrunn Palace, not just the outside, but the tour. We started the day making the 20 minute trip to the Palace only to find out that the passes themselves had to be picked up in a completely different place 15 minutes away. By the time we made our way down to pick up the passes and then back to the Schonbrunn Palace (11:00 in the morning), the tours of the Palace itself had all been booked for the day. While there were very long lines of people without the Vienna Pass, we were under the impression that we would be able to skip the lines (as advertised), but this was NOT the case. After asking several employees what could be done, every one of them stated there was nothing they could do. Not a single person even attempted to help us, but instead only said that we could come back in the morning and try to schedule a tour for the next day. Unfortunately, we did not have another day in Vienna to do this. While this was the main issue that we had during this adventure, the buses were very inconsistent with the schedules posted. I understand that each route is different and issues can come up, at one point, we waited 40 minutes for a bus to pick us up on the yellow route, all-the-while having 4-5 buses on the red line passed the same route. While I typically have positive things to say about these types of attractions, I, unfortunately, did not have a positive experience with this particular one.

Plan your attractions

I bought the 2 day pass. You need to plan which attractions you’ll visit ahead. Getting from one stop to another takes up quite some time on different lines. Make sure you’re in time to return to your stop before the last bus.

I've done the hop-on hop-off ticket twice now, and am still not convinced that it is worth it. You cannot possibly see everything in Vienna in 4 days. We took the two day ticket, thinking that we'd go back on our final day to see something we glossed over quickly. I think you need to be very organized to make these tickets make value-sense. Otherwise, you are better off just picking the sites you want to see and pay for them at the door

The ticket pick up process is not really flexible. We were already running short of time for 48 hours...when we arrived the palace stop the next morning, the tour guider insisted that we would need to go back to the subway station to exchange the ticket even though we had the print out and all documents. We lost the full morning sun. There should be an easy ticket pick up at the spot every bus stop. Also there were no ferries Wheel or Danube tower due to renovation.

The price is well worth the costs of the places you could get into. The only problem is time to do all the things. Please note that you have to print the voucher but if you didn’t, the tellers in the pick-up counter are very helpful so you could email them the vouchers for them to check.

Very good value and if planned properly it's possible to see virtually all of the sights Vienna has to offer. We took a 2-day ticket and had free entry to almost every place except the Opera House. Highly recommended.

This is a must if you plan to stay awhile in Vienna, the Vienna pass gets you into so many different places for free, and the bus is a plus as well. I would also recommend if you are staying in Vienna for awhile to get a 3 day or a weekly metro pass. The metro works very well and gets you all over Vienna quickly. If you use the metro make sure you buy the regular ticket and not a discount ticket. The first day I made the mistake of buying a discount ticket, when I got to the station you don't show or scan a ticket on entering the metro I handed by ticket to an inspector who informed me that I had purchased the wrong ticket. The fine was 100 euros!! He would not give in at all when trying to explain I made a mistake, just blamed me for doing it wrong.

The Viator Viena Pass is a must The audio gave us so much information on each site and the pass allowed us to tour numerous sites with out waiting in line for a ticket. The busses and their routes were clearly marked. Overall it was well organized. Thank you Viator!

Great purchase - well worth the money. Make sure that if you get it-- you realize that if you activate the pass at 2pm-- that is day 1, and the next day starts at midnight. It is not 2 x 24 hour periods but 2 back to back calendar days after activation. Either way- it was worth it. I was able to do all the things that i wanted, and even went to a few places that I would not have necessarily gone without a free pass. Definitely worth it at Schonbrunn because everything is included in your pass- and you could spend the whole day out there.

A great city to visit and a great value with the pass. We saw so much that we wouldn't have known about. Difficult to find the location to pick up the book and the pass. Vienna surprised us, a beautiful, walkable city with lots to see.

Great value if you're visiting Vienna for the first time and want to see a variety of things. We moved between cultural to whimsical with visits to the Albertine, Schonbrunn Palace, the Apple Strudel making demonstration and the Time Travel through Vienna attraction. Would highly recommend the House of Music. We couldn't possibly do all that was on offer in the time we had - so choose wisely.
